Meet our Fall 2018 Jurors!

Melissa BeanMelissa Mann Bean has thrived as an art director, professor, and photographer at different design companies and universities since 1992. • When she’s not juggling dirty diapers and dealing with renovations to her old farmhouse, she runs her commercial photography freelance gig. Currently, she is the photographer/designer for her son’s elementary school yearbook. • She lives in Louisville with her husband, two kids and dalmatian. Melissa has also taught here at Ivy Tech so she has a passion for helping you succeed!


kok-cheow-yeohAfter over 10 years teaching in at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, Dr. Kok Cheow Yeoh now heads the graphic design program at Indiana University Southeast in New Albany, Indiana. Prior to that, he has taught in California, Arkansas, Texas, and Georgia. He has actively participated in several international exhibitions in Brazil, China, Turkey, Italy, and Russia and has presented in Brazil, Colombia, Cyprus, India, Portugal, Taiwan, and the UK. His research is published in journals and proceedings such as the International Journal of Design in Society, The International Journal of the Arts in Society, and the Journal of Public Relations and Advertising. He sees travel as a form of active and deep learning, especially the latter in which it is about understanding, not just memorizing.

Andrew SpaldingAndrew Spalding is Associate Creative Director at Fieldtrip, a design agency in Louisville, where he has worked since 2015. Prior to Fieldtrip, Andrew graduated with a BFA in design from the University of Kansas and worked as a freelancer at numerous agencies and clients.

Timeline PhotosCALLING ALL MURALISTS: Proposals for NoCo Alleyway Name Mural, 5,000 dollar commission, deadline June 16th JPAC is seeking 2D artists to submit a proposal for a name/text mural to be placed at the future entrance to the NoCo Arts and Cultural District. This mural will serve as a connection point for visitors between the public parking area and the district. The mural will be painted on the surface of a repurposed metal corrugated shipping container that is 40 feet X 8 feet. The mural will face the alleyway that will house the future NoCo Paint Box Garden (opens summer of 2021). The mural should feature the “NoCo Arts and Cultural District” name prominently.
