Job Opportunity: Communications Designer

The Louisville and Jefferson County Metropolitan Sewer District (MSD) is seeking a Communications Designer. This position provides photography, video production, graphic design and Webmaster support to MSD. Raises awareness of the vital services MSD provides to our community with both internal and external audiences through professionally produced communication pieces that adhere to the MSD Brand Standards Guide.

Essential Job Functions: Provides both still and video photography. Performs video production. Plans and scripts educational video to give a look into the vital services MSD provides to our community. Communications may be delivered via video walls, externally through social media and public events. Creates content for video wall. Provides graphic design for print and digital materials including brochures, stationery items, flyers, direct mail, reports, banners, etc. Serves as webmaster by posting updates to MSD external site. Responsible for updating content of MSD website within the new framework and brand standards as needed.  

Qualification Requirements: Qualified applicants must have an Associate Degree in Graphic Design or a related field; five or more years related experience; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted. Must possess a valid driver’s license. Must have safe work and driving habits.

Applicants must also have knowledge of marketing and advertisement; knowledge of educational outreach for various genders and age groups; skill in the use of Adobe Video Productions Suite and Adobe Creative Suite; skill in the use of Final Cut Pro 7, Motion 4, Compressor 3.5, Soundtrack Pro 3, Color 1.5, and DVD Studio Pro 4; skill in operating a 35 mm camera; ability to operate a Mac; ability to operate a PC and associated Windows environment software (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint); ability to use MagicInfo video wall program; ability to communicate orally and in writing; ability to handle multiple priorities; ability to be courteous and helpful under pressure; ability to work effectively under heavy, unpredictable surges in workload.

Timeline PhotosCALLING ALL MURALISTS: Proposals for NoCo Alleyway Name Mural, 5,000 dollar commission, deadline June 16th JPAC is seeking 2D artists to submit a proposal for a name/text mural to be placed at the future entrance to the NoCo Arts and Cultural District. This mural will serve as a connection point for visitors between the public parking area and the district. The mural will be painted on the surface of a repurposed metal corrugated shipping container that is 40 feet X 8 feet.
