Congratulations to the Winners of 2017 Louie Awards!

Congratulations to Ivy Tech Southern Indiana students, Craig Johnston, Charity Carkuff, John Bailey, Lauren Carney, Noah Brown, Louie Herlihy, Morgan Brinegar, Kyunghwa Choi, Angeline Brock, along with Assistant Professor, Susan Mackowiak, for their winning entries in the 2017 Advertising Federation Louie Competition! Along with Craig Johnston and Louie Herlihy receiving Gold Awards for their entries, Craig also received Best of Show among student entries for his, What do I want to Bee? An Alphabet Book. Craig wrote, illustrated, and designed his winning entry.

The Louies are the creative competition for the advertising industry and provide industry professionals and students with the opportunity to showcase their best work. Winning a Louie is the first step in the three-tiered American Advertising Awards creative competition, sponsored by the American Advertising Federation, with the competition culminating at the AAF national conference in June.

Timeline PhotosCALLING ALL MURALISTS: Proposals for NoCo Alleyway Name Mural, 5,000 dollar commission, deadline June 16th JPAC is seeking 2D artists to submit a proposal for a name/text mural to be placed at the future entrance to the NoCo Arts and Cultural District. This mural will serve as a connection point for visitors between the public parking area and the district. The mural will be painted on the surface of a repurposed metal corrugated shipping container that is 40 feet X 8 feet. The mural will face the alleyway that will house the future NoCo Paint Box Garden (opens summer of 2021). The mural should feature the “NoCo Arts and Cultural District” name prominently. Congratulations to Aung Oo. His photograph "Under the Bridge" won a National Addy. We will find out on June 11th if it got Gold or Silver. This is very exciting as winning a National ADDY is statistically the most difficult creative award to receive. Congratulations, well deserved! ...
