Formerly named the Louie Awards, the ADDYs are the premiere creative competition for the advertising industry and provide industry professionals and students with the opportunity to showcase their best work. Winning an Addy is the first step in the three-tiered American Advertising Awards creative competition, sponsored by the American Advertising Federation, with the competition culminating at the AAF national conference in June.
Selection of the most creative entries in each category is affected by a scoring process in which a panel of judges evaluates all creative dimensions of every entry. A Gold ADDY is recognition of the highest level of creative excellence and is judged to be superior to all other entries in the category. Entries that are also considered outstanding and worthy of recognition receive a Silver ADDY. The number of awards given in each category is determined by the judges, based on the relative quality of work in that category.
In 2021, the following Ivy Tech students were recognized in this competition for their outstanding projects:
Sherri Drake – Silver Addy Award for “Pearadox,”
Aung Myo Oo – Silver Addy Award for “Evander Holyfield” Illustration,
Cassandra Gentry – Silver Addy award for her campaign, “Scoria,”
Ismaeel Hummeid – Judge’s Choice Award for “Ndara” brand standards,
and Cassie Bays – Gold Addy and Best in Show award for her film “The Dairy Dilemma.”
Two years in a row Ivy Tech Students have won the Best in Show award. We have amazing professors who are dedicated to student success. These five winning awards came from five different courses with five different instructors; Yvonne Haller, David Modica, Candace Jaworski, Vernon Town, & Melissa Plush. Congratulations to all of our students and professors.
