If you graduated from the Visual Communication Program at Ivy Tech Southern Indiana, we want your work for the 2017 Alumni Art Show to be held on April 20 – June 9 in the Pat Harrison Fine Arts + Design Gallery. Opening reception will be held on Thursday, April 20 from 5:30 -7:30pm.

Ivy Tech Southern Indiana and the Pat Harrison Fine Arts + Design Gallery are proud to announce the call for entires of Visual Communication Alumni artwork. The theme for this show is “Evolution.”

1. the gradual development of something, especially from a simple to a more complex form.

Eligibility: The exhibition is open to all creatives, 18 years and older, having graduated or transferred from the Visual Communication Program at Ivy Tech Southern Indiana.

Media Accepted: All media accepted, including digital works, graphic design, photography, sculpture, painting, drawing, printmaking, glass, ceramics, fiber art and mixed media.

Size Limitations: Two-dimensional works must be no larger than 60” on any side, including frame. Three-dimensional works must be no larger than 45” on any side and no greater than 70 lbs.

Submission Process: There will be no juror for this exhibition, so artists should submit actual works for inclusion in the exhibition. Ivy Tech Southern Indiana reserves the right to withhold from the exhibition any work that is deemed dangerous, poorly presented or for failure to observe limitations. Please keep in mind this is a family-friendly venue and work that is deemed inappropriate for a general public viewership may be withheld from the exhibition.

Artists may submit up to three (3) original works. All 2D work must be matted and framed or come with instructions for alternative hanging. All 3D work must come with instructions for display (pedestal, floor, wall, etc.)

Artwork must be accompanied by the entry form secured to the entry with masking tape.

We cannot guarantee every piece submitted will be exhibited in the gallery. A slideshow of ALL works will be available for public viewing should there need to be space-related omissions. Should it be necessary, the exhibit will be hung “salon style” with multiple pieces sharing wall space in close proximity. All care and consideration will be given by the curatorial staff to best represent each artist and artwork submitted.

Delivery Requirements: Artists are responsible for delivery of artwork, ready to display.

Opening Reception: Thursday, April 20, 2017 from 5:30pm – 7:30pm
Dates of exhibition: April 20 through June 9, 2017
Pickup of Artwork: no later than June 16, 2017

Timeline PhotosCALLING ALL MURALISTS: Proposals for NoCo Alleyway Name Mural, 5,000 dollar commission, deadline June 16th JPAC is seeking 2D artists to submit a proposal for a name/text mural to be placed at the future entrance to the NoCo Arts and Cultural District. This mural will serve as a connection point for visitors between the public parking area and the district. The mural will be painted on the surface of a repurposed metal corrugated shipping container that is 40 feet X 8 feet. The mural will face the alleyway that will house the future NoCo Paint Box Garden (opens summer of 2021). The mural should feature the “NoCo Arts and Cultural District” name prominently.
