After over 10 years teaching in at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, Dr. Kok Cheow Yeoh now heads the graphic design program at Indiana University Southeast in New Albany, Indiana. Prior to that, he has taught in California, Arkansas, Texas and Georgia. He has actively participated in several international exhibitions in Brazil, China, Turkey, Italy and Russia and has presented in Brazil, Colombia, Cyprus, India, Portugal, Taiwan, and the UK. His research is published in journals and proceedings such as the International Journal of Design in Society, The International Journal of the Arts in Society, and the Journal of Public Relations and Advertising. He sees travel as a form of active and deep learning, especially the latter in which it is about understanding, not just memorizing.
Chris Witzke boasts 30 years of experience in photography and owns his own studio right in Louisville. His love for photography drives his life and has done so since he was 12 years old, working in his father’s self-built darkroom.
Completely ensconced in a singular passion for creative photographic work, he spent his late childhood living in Japan and England and was never without his camera. He took this love for the craft with him to Brooks Institute in California, where he studied photography.
After college, Chris landed a job in a large studio that did advertising work for a number of varied clients. From food to people, if you can think of it, chances are Chris shot it. From the almonds that end up on the cans for Blue Diamond to the Makers Mark ads in National magazines.
After a few years, Chris had enough freelance work under his belt to open his own studio in Northern California, and he has been in business for himself ever since. With the wine industry being so image heavy in the bay area Chris became a specialist in bottle photography which made Louisville such a good fit and eventually moved his studio to Louisville in 1998. He’s a go to for brands such as Four Roses, Bulleit, Makers Mark, KFC, Toyota, Baptist Hospital, Brown Forman, Louisville Magazine, Garden & Gun, WIRED, and many more.
Chris also has professional connections with many musicians, most notable of which is Ben Sollee, a popular contemporary cellist. Chris handles Ben’s branding, photography, and music videos. Chris considers projects with Ben to be more of a treat than work and is excited that they are in pre-production on a television series.
