Meet our Spring 2015 jurors!
Matt Dobson is an artist and designer on a mission to make the world (or at least Louisville) a more beautiful place. He is currently the creative director of The Louisville Paper, former president of the Louisville Graphic Design Association (LGDA), and holds down a day job at Power Creative. He has a beautiful wife, an amazing daughter, and a stinky dog.
Leslie Friesen is both a professor and practitioner of graphic design. Since 2002, Friesen has served as the Power Creative Designer-in-Residence, a full-time faculty position in the Communication Art & Design BFA program at the University of Louisville’s Hite Art Institute. In addition, she continues to work as a designer through Point A Consulting. • After graduating cum laude from the University of Louisville in 1980 with a degree in Fine Arts, where she concentrated both on photography and graphic design, Friesen worked for more than four years as Assistant Art Director for Louisville Magazine. • From 1985 until 2002, Friesen headed a graphic design group within the public relations and marketing firm, New!West. During that time, the focus of her design work was on internal and human resources communication for clients including Yum!Brands, KFC, Humana, and GE.
For over twenty years, Patrick L. Pfister has been telling stories with the images he creates while fulfilling the visual needs of the corporate community. • Patrick has been honored to photograph the nation’s first hand transplant and Kentucky’s first heart transplant. He has covered such dignitaries as the 24th US Secretary of Labor Elaine Chao, Yum! CEO David Novak and Mother Teresa. He has worked with major corporations such as Humana,Toyota and Brown-Forman. In the realm of academia, Patrick has photographed for the University of Louisville, Indiana University and Ball State University. • Patrick began his illustrious career photographing for a local newspaper and has since been published in such journalistic endeavors as Life Magazine-Pictures of the Year, The Wall Street Journal, Time, Wine Spectator and Forbes.
